2017 MO School Library Snapshot Day

March 30th & 31st





MASL would like to thank everyone who took the time to collect and submit data and photos for this year's MO School Library Snapshot Day.  As you can see, there were many fun, exciting and interesting things going on in Missouri school libraries on these days.


The results below provide an amazing "snapshot" of what we do, as well as indisputable proof that school libraries in Missouri consistently provide invaluable service to our students.


In Just One Day:

  • 26,710 people/students walked through the doors of Missouri School Libraries.
  • 18,737 books, movies, and more were borrowed from Missouri School Libraries.
  • 7,798 people/students used computers Missouri School Libraries.
  • 2.243 people visited Missouri School Library Websites.
  • 3,781 people used Missouri School Libraries databases (both internal & external)
  • 960+ questions were answered at Missouri School Libraries.
  • 854.25 – hours Missouri School Libraries were open.
  • 762.50 – hours Missouri School Libraries were staffed by a librarian.
  • 449 collaborative lessons/student events occurred in Missouri School Libraries.
  • 86 meetings or other events were held in Missouri School Libraries.

121 school libraries in Missouri participated in this event.
