Mary Downing Hahn

Author Mary Downing Hahn has over 30 years of experience writing for children. She has sold more than 2 million copies of her novels, and is perhaps most well known for writing mysteries and ghost stories. One, Deep, Dark and Dangerous, won the 2009-2010 Mark Twain Readers Award after keeping young readers on the edge of their seats with the story of a girl, a ghost and a family secret. Hahn will be attending the 2011 MASL Spring Conference and will present 2 workshops, conduct autograph sessions and attend the Readers Award Banquet on the evening of Monday, April 18.

Mary Casanova and Ard Hoyt

Author Mary Casanova and illustrator Ard Hoyt, winners of the 2009-2010 Show Me Readers Award for Some Dog!, will be attending the 2011 MASL Spring Conference! Some Dog!is the story of George and Zippity—two unlikely dogs with temperaments as different as night and day. Zippity is the dog that does tricks and lives to please his new family, but his high-strung nature sends him running outside during a storm. George finds that his special skill, the ability to follow a scent, saves the day! Mary Casanova and Ard Hoyt will be presenting two workshops during the conference and this pair of professionals will conduct autographing sessions and will attend the Readers Awards Banquet on Monday evening, April 18.
