Come celebrate the artwork and legacy of Maurice Sendak with LEONARD MARCUS, a leading authority on children’s books and their creators. His own award-winning books include Margaret Wise Brown: Awakened by the Moon; Dear Genius: The Letters of Ursula Nordstrom; Minders of Make-Believe; The Annotated Phantom Tollbooth; and Show Me a Story! A frequent contributor to the New York Times Book Review and the Horn Book Magazine, Marcus is a founding trustee of the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.

Leonard Marcus is a renowned historian and critic of children’s books. One of the most trusted critics in the field, his incisive book reviews have appeared in every issue of Parenting magazine for 21 years.
Join us at the Central Library auditorium from 7 – 8pm on October 1st as Mr. Leonard will discuss Dear Genius: The Letters of Ursula Nordstrom. Considered an editor of maverick temperament and taste, Ursula Nordstrom’s unorthodox vision helped create such classics as Goodnight Moon, Charlotte's Web, Where the Wild Things Are, Harold and the Purple Crayon, and The Giving Tree.

Books will be sale courtesy of Left Bank Books.
