The American Library Association (ALA) is now accepting applications for the 2015 class of Emerging Leaders, and MASL wants YOU to consider applying to serve as Missouri's ALA Emerging Leader!
The ALA Emerging Leaders program is a leadership development program enabling newer LMS' from across the country to participate in problem-solving work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity. It puts participants on the fast track to ALA committee volunteerism and professional library-related organizations.
The Emerging Leaders Program kicks off at the ALA Midwinter Meeting. Afterwards, it grows and develops in an online learning and networking environment for six months. The program culminates with a poster session presentation to display the results of the project planning work of each group at the ALA Annual Conference. Missouri's Emerging Leader is also given time to present a workshop at MASL's Spring Conference.
This is a great opportunity, and one which MASL encourages its members to apply for.
The deadline to apply is August 1, 2014. More information on the program and application are available on the Emerging Leaders web page.
