Readers Award Voting Begins Today! Student voting for the 2010-2011 Readers Award titles begins today, March 1st! The deadline for submitting votes has been extended until March 17th. The extension is to accommodate those schools that have had a significant number of snow days this year. Please review the following procedures for recording and reporting votes. Step 1: Design Ballots for Students Educators or schools design voting ballots for students to use during the voting time period. Please note that the Show Me Packet, available online to logged-in members, contains a Show Me ballot with images of titles. Step 2: Let the Students Vote Each student has one vote per ballot and may only submit one ballot per each award category. A student may only cast a vote for the awards if they have read at least the minimum number of titles on the master list, as specified in each award's guidelines. Step 3: Tally Up the Votes The results of the ballot voting for each award are recorded on the MASL voting tally sheet for each award. These tally sheets can be accessed via the MASL website by visiting the Readers Award Voting Page. Step 4: Report the Votes Online Tally sheet data must be submitted via forms accessible through the Readers Award Voting Page. Please note that these forms will only be active through March 17th. Votes will not be accepted if they are submitted via mail or fax. Step 5: Wait for the Results! Results will be announced at the 2011 Spring Conference, so don’t forget to register to attend! Please contact the MASL office with any questions at (573) 893-4155 or info@maslonline.org.
