Board Meeting Minutes
President
The President shall be a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), and shall have the following duties: to preside at all meetings of the Association, Board and Council; to serve as Ex-Officio member of all Standing and Special Committees; to serve as the Official Delegate to the AASL Affiliate Assembly held at ALA Midwinter Conference; to serve as Official Delegate to AASL Region III meetings; to represent MASL at Missouri State Legislative Day and Missouri Governor's Proclamation Day; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
First Vice-President
The First Vice President/President Elect shall be a member of the American Library Association (ALA) and the American Association of School Librarians (AASL), and shall have the following duties: to preside at all meetings of the Association, Board and Council in the absence of the President; to serve as Co-Chair of the Finance Committee; to serve as Co-Chair of the Annual Spring Conference; to serve as Ex-Officio member of all Standing and Special Committees of the Association, Board or Council; to serve as Official Delegate to the AASL Affiliate Assembly held at ALA Annual Conference; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
Second Vice-President
The Second Vice-President shall have the following duties: to preside at all meetings of the Association, Board and Council in the absence of the President and First Vice-President/President Elect; to serve as Ex-Officio member of the Professional Education Committee; to serve as Chair of the Fall Seminar Committee; to represent MASL at the biennial AASL Conference when it occurs during the Second Vice-President's term of office; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
Secretary
The Secretary shall have the following duties: to keep minutes of all meetings of the Association, the Board and the Council; to prepare the MASL Annual Report; to serve as MASL Archivist/Historian; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
Treasurer
The Treasurer shall have the following duties: to oversee the receipt and expenditure of funds and financial records of the Association; to serve as Co-Chair of the Finance Committee; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
Past-President
The Past-President shall have the following duties: to serve as Parliamentarian at Council and Board meetings; to serve as Chair of the Nominations Committee; to serve as Co-Chair of the Professional Education Committee; to represent MASL at the annual ALA National Legislative Day; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
AASL Affiliate Assembly Delegate
The AASL Affiliate Assembly Delegate shall be a member of ALA and AASL and shall have the following duties: to serve as Official Delegate to the AASL Affiliate Assembly held at ALA Annual and Midwinter Conferences; to serve as Official Delegate to AASL Region III meetings; to represent MASL at the biennial AASL Conference held during the term of office; to serve as Co-Chair of the Professional Education Committee; to assist with all matters related to Intellectual Freedom and challenged materials; and to perform all duties set forth in the MASL Policies and Procedures for this office.
